The Gift of Art

Two of the largest gifts of all time were works of art. One of the most famous American landmarks, the Statue of Liberty, was a gift from the French lead by Frederic Bartholdi on the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Another famous art gift (although perhaps not as well received) was given in a tale by the Greeks during the Trojan War. Here, a magnificent wooden horse stood at the gates, filled with soldiers, only to be deployed once the gift was safely inside the walls. The ruse was a success for the Greeks as the Trojans were defeated, making the story of the Trojan Horse infamous both in terms of gifts and also military strategy. Hopefully, most gifts don’t typically have such ulterior motives.

When shopping around for the perfect gift, art can be something truly unique and thoughtful. Art is also becoming a very popular house warming gift or wedding gift – a nice way to spread joy as friends start new chapters of their lives. One of the many benefits of art is that you can choose a piece that truly reflects the recipient.
