Artist Statement:
I celebrate the people who leave an impression on the world—their abilities, qualities, and achievements. There is a deep admiration I hold for those who shape our lives, and capturing their essence is pure joy. I am drawn to the faces I paint, their struggles, their contributions, and the unique energy they radiate. My subjects often come from those who have left a lasting mark on me, whether through their work or simply by the way they live their lives.
I create paintings and collages using repurposed textiles, paper, newspapers, and other mixed media—materials that are post-consumption and pre-landfill. By cutting images from vintage books and magazines and incorporating leftover fibers and threads, I give new life to discarded objects. The process is a blend of painting, cutting, gluing, sewing, and embroidery, each piece a one-of-a-kind creation that merges innovation with sustainability.
The bold outlines and vibrant colors I use convey irony, satire, and elegance, while keeping the work deeply human and relatable. Influenced by artists like Jasper Johns and David Hockney, I draw inspiration from vivid colors, bold shapes, and the everyday objects that surround us. Hockney’s personal depictions of domestic life and Johns’ integration of mass-produced goods pushed the boundaries of how we perceive familiar imagery, and their work continues to inform my artistic approach.
Each piece is a unique exploration of sustainability in contemporary art, inviting viewers to connect with the beauty in reuse, and the creativity in repurposing. Join me in celebrating the art of transformation, one piece at a time.
I have exhibited and sold my works at galleries in/around Los Angeles and online. My artwork collectors spans from US, UK, Germany, Canada, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, India, Switzerland and Dubai.
