Artist Statement:
Pour moi, inspiration est synonyme de message à transmettre par l’oeuvre créée.
Le symbole a une importance majeure pour moi. Je le cherche à tout instant. Comment le faire apparaître? Comment provoquer l’observation, la réflexion de l’amateur autant que du passant?
Si j’aperçois quelque personne arrêtée devant une de mes sculptures, méditant, j’ai l’impression d’avoir réussi. La vision qu’a cet individu d’un aspect du monde au travers de mon oeuvre sera t-elle modifiée, après réflexion? Démarche de l’esprit qui parait simple! Peut-être n’ai-je pas abattu l’arbre qui cache la forêt, mais j’aurai contribué à changer l’angle visuel du spectateur, pour voir ce qui existe derrière.
Le Symbole est d’importance majeure. Je parle avec mes mains qui expriment ma pensée par des volumes, ainsi que par des couleurs. C’est était déjà un message. En réalisant des commandes pour des collections privées, publiques, des décors de places citadines, j’ai pu propager mon message.
Demain, le message sera peut-être transmis par un support différent. Peu importe. Ma création sera toujours un message que j’adresse à tous.
For me, inspiration is synonymous with the message to be transmitted by the created work.
The symbol is of major importance to me. I'm looking for him anytime. How to make it appear? How to provoke the observation, the reflection of the amateur as well as the passer-by?
If I see someone stopped in front of one of my sculptures, meditating, I feel I have succeeded. Will the vision of this individual of an aspect of the world through my work be modified, after reflection? Approach of the mind that seems simple! Perhaps I did not shoot down the tree that hides the forest, but I will have helped to change the visual angle of the viewer, to see what is behind it.
The symbol is of major importance. I speak with my hands expressing my thought by volumes, as well as colors. It was already a message. By making orders for private collections, public, scenery of city squares, I was able to spread my message.
Tomorrow, the message may be sent by a different medium. It does not matter. My creation will always be a message to everyone.
